Day 10

I woke up this morning feeling like I could go another 10 days easy.

I made it. I did it. I can't believe it.

Tuesday, April 10, 2012

Today was a great day. Although I m looking forward to eating again, I think I could actually continue beyond tomorrow.

I think I will make it my goal to cleanse once every 6 months. Next time I will try for 14 days.

I came home from work today after working yet another 13 hour day, cooked a fabulous meal. Parmesan crusted chicken breast with chicken and rosemary stuffed buitoni pasta with garlic alfredo sauce.

Man it looked great! However, I was cool. I can't lie though, I am one week away from a nice fat Ruben sandwich.

Day 9

Good Morning,

Yet another day, waking up feeling absolutely great. Only one more full day to go.

Last night, my husband wanted to have a fish fry, so we did. Although it looked and smelled so good. I wasn't really hungry at all.  I think at this point the cleanse is more of a mental thing than anything. I am not physically hungry, but more so mentally.

Day 8 Continued....

Overall today was a good day. I wasn't hungry, but I am looking forward to eating.

Day 8

Good Morning,

The countdown is in full swing now. Only 2 more days to go. Not that I can pig out, but the mere thought of being able to eat again, makes my mouth water.

Today I woke up feeling great. I got to work this morning, and someone told me my skin looks brighter.
So, I guess the cleanse is doing it's job.  As crazy as it sounds, I think the next time I cleanse; I'll do it for 14 days.

I went grocery shopping yesterday, which I absolutely love to do. I love to cook and shopping for new things to cook, is so much fun  lol.  It was bitter sweet. I bought so many new things to try and cook, because I am looking forward to eating. Although I can't indulge in it now, it will be fun to see my families reaction to the new dinner menu items.

One of the reviews I read prior to beginning the cleans, recommended, that I take all food out of my house. eliminating the temptation to break the cleanse. Not only did I not take all food from my house. I wnet and bought more food. My cabinets are stocked to the brim, including the kids junk food pantry.

I personally believe,  it comes down to self control.

Day 7

Yesterday didn't end too great. As a result of my headache, I ended up throwing up. Which sucked because there was nothing but water in my system. My husband got mad at me because I was sick, and couldn't see the point in a cleanse/ diet that caused me to be sick. Needless to say the weekend wasn't going so good. I think this day, was by far the worst.

Sitting on the couch with a blanket over my head, trying to mask the smell of the wonderful Wing Stop my husband and kids were eating. I was so tempted to have a French fry, or even a celery stick. I had to be strong.

Today I woke up feeling about the same. Headache still looming, slightly irritated because the clock says 5:55am. Better yet, pissed because I'm up so early on a Sunday morning. I try my best to fall back to sleep, but this damn headache wont go away. Eventually it happened.

I got up at 9:30 feeling a little better, headache only slightly there. Enough to where I could ignore it. I decided to get on the scale, so I could make sense of why I was putting myself through discomfort for this cleanse. I've lost 8 pounds. Yaaaaaay! Three more days today.....

Day 6

Today I woke up feeling great, the day started out fine. I was full of energy, feeling good about myself. Somehow I had managed to make it 6 whole days without breaking...

As the day progressed, my head started hurting, my stomach was in knots. It felt almost as if, it was eating itself from the inside. I was feeling so bad, my husband and son, asked me "why I was doing this to myself"?

More than just to detoxify my body, rid it of unwanted toxins, and to drop a few pounds along the way (hopefully) closer to 10).... But at this point I am determined to complete this. To show myself I have self control. I decided to lay it down and take a nap, hoping that when I woke up, I would feel better. Nope! It didn't happen... I woke up with the same headache I feel asleep with.

So now as I type, head still pounding, sucking on my spicy lemonade. I count down the days. This cleanse definitely isn't for everyone. However, I am sure my body will thank me for it.

Stay tuned.....

Day 5

Day 5 has arrived, and I am still alive.  Half way there. Happy Friday, thank God it's the weekend. I didn't think I would make it through the week, although. I woke up this morning feeling great. Aside from going to the restroom literally every 30 minutes. I am cool.

Last night was a rough night though. I walk in the house after a 13 hour day at work, to the smell of homemade Hamburgers and fresh hand cut french fries with garden salad. I was absolutely bitchy...
I wanted to indulge so bad! That's when the self control came into play. I even had to dress my kids burgers for them. Talk about torture. I didn't break though.

The tricky part will be this evenings date night. My husband and I have date night every Friday night.
He joked "we could have a candlelit dinner with Cayenne pepper lemonade".  NOT FUNNY!  I think we'll go to the movies, instead of our usual night out for dinner. That way my mind will stray away from eating.  I swear, I never really noticed how every other commercial on television, has to do with food.
If I can manage to make it through this weekend, without booze or food. I'll be on target to complete this Master Cleanse Journey.
Stay tuned..........

Day 4

Today, I woke up feeling great. I believe my body has adjusted to the cleanse, and detoxification is in full swing. Slight headache this morning, I am sure is more attributed to work. Rather than that of lack of food.
Overall, I feel great. My stomach feels light, and aside from a few stomach grumblings, making it through to day 10 will be a breeze.  Last night, I fixed my families dinner plates, and even sat at the dinner table with them while they ate. I was not tempted in the slightest way, not to mention I would only be robbing myself.

Wednesday, April 4, 2012

After all, today was a good day! Aside from a few minor urges to eat candy today. Not too bad. Three days down... I I cant say that I had so much energy that I wanted to do cartwheels, but it felt good.

Day 3

I woke up this morning feeling great. No hunger, no pains, not irritable and I've lost 5 pounds so far (at least that's what the scale says) lol. Overall, I feel great.

Wrapping up day 2...

I managed to make it through then day without breaking under pressure. I even managed to cook dinner for my family and wasn't tempted to even sample the meat. Yaaay. Today was a little rough. After I overcame my headache things got a littler better.. Aside from a minor emptiness in my stomach, I feel pretty good.
Forget what I said.... I'm in such a pissy mood right now. My head is pounding and my butt burns. Hunger is not even the problem, surprisingly.
OMG it smells so wonderful! Lord Give me strength! LOL..

Day 2

I woke up tired this morning, a little hungry. However as of now, not too bad.
Not making it any easier,  my job is bringing in lunch today, which means everyone around me will be eating.
I am going to stay strong. though and continue to sip on my spicy lemonade. The day is half way over.

Day 1 Continued.........

I ended the day with a total of 9-16 oz servings of Lemonade.
The last step in the process is to flush your system with a natural ingestible laxative such as sea salt (non iodized) or herbal laxativ tea, or a combination of both. It would be best to take it right before bed and first thing in the morning. So, I mixed up 1 tsp of non -iodized sea salt with 16oz of water. In addition, I had a 8oz  cup of herbal laxative tea.

The taste of the sea salt flush, wasnt so bad. However it does take effect pretty quickly.
I was waiting all day to feel something, and it finally hit me just as I was ready to go to bed. I must warn you as well. It woke me up out of my sleep at 2am to use the restroom again.

Overall day 1 wasnt what I expected. I expected to be ready to eat everything.

Day 1

The mixture calls for:

2 Tbsp Fresh Squeezed Lemon Juice, 2 Tbsp of Maple Syrup and 1/10th tsp of Cayenne pepper.
Add 10 0z of water.

I've concocted a dose and surprisingly, it's not that bad. It has a spicy kick to it.

So far it is late in the afternoon, I feel OK. Aside from the fact that there is food and candy everywhere around me, I haven't yet had the urge to grab something and shove it in my mouth.
Supposedly the first three days are the hardest to complete.

Right about now, I have had 6 servings of lemonade, and the only preference I have at the moment is that is mixed with cold water. On my 3rd batch, I used a little more syrup and found it to be pretty tasty. I think I've mastered the mixture.

Introduction

Hello World.

I have heard lots of talks about this famous Master Cleanse diet, all the health benefits that comes along with it. Mental and Physical benefits, not to mention a jump start to a healthier lifestyle and lets not forget shedding some unwanted pounds along the way.

Ive been planning to embark on this journey for about a week now. I've read several reviews, some good and some bad.   I'd like to think of myself as a person of strong determination, as well as one with self control and will power... With that being said,  I decided to put myself to the test.

Over the next 10 days, I will be documenting my road to completion of the 10 day master cleanse. I've thought this out and put plenty of planning into it, I think I can do it!

What better way to record my thoughts, complaints and my progress, So here it goes.

Last night I went to Trader Joe's to pick up the ingredients.

1) Organic Lemons
2) Organic Maple Syrup (Grade B Formaldehyde free)
3) Cayenne Pepper
4) Spring or Filtered Water/Distilled.

I have read mixed reviews on weather spring water is acceptable.
